Roberta H. Myers, LICSW, BCD
Licensed Social Worker (Washington: LW00004302)

Overview
Each person has strengths and weaknesses and ways of coping with problems that reflect their unique history and personality. People are often unaware of the contributing factors which limit their ability to solve their unhappiness. When difficult problems arise, your coping mechanisms can work against you.

Therapy must be tailored to the individual. Good psychotherapy occurs through a partnership where you are helped to address, understand and work out your distress more thoroughly than you have been able to do on your own. Psychotherapy is a valuable tool to feel better about yourself, be freer of anxieties and self-doubt, and have easier and more rewarding and successful relationships, both personally and professionally. Child and adolescent psychotherapy takes into account the special capacities and vulnerabilities of children. The goal of these therapies is the removal of roadblocks that interfere with normal psychological development and growth.

Two essential parts of therapy are trust and confidentiality. The competency, integrity and experience level of your therapist matter. I have been a psychotherapist for over 40 years, treating adults, adolescents and children for a wide range of emotional issues in addition to providing couples counseling. I hold a license in Washington state and am a Board Certified Diplomate.
