Ms. Katherine Rabinowitz, LP, M.A., NCPsyA
Licensed Psychoanalyst (New York: 000396-1)

Overview
Helping people feel better and achieve what they want requires the ability to foster an environment where it feels safe to talk about what's troubling you. The therapist should listen and understand in a non-judgmental, empathic, yet perceptive and insightful way. Change is hard. It's normal to be stuck in patterns that no longer serve you well, and not know how to change them. It's normal to be anxious and depressed in a difficult world where the future is uncertain. It's also normal to have conflicting feelings about people, love, work, or life. My training (12 yrs.) is psychodynamic (meaning insight-oriented), and my approach is flexible and interactive. In therapy we try to understand how you came to be the person you are today, what parts of you no longer fit your image of who you want to be, what you might like to cultivate instead, and how to get there. There is no magic wand, but people committed to the process can usually make significant strides in reasonable periods of time. For extensive information about the process, please visit my website: TherapyCanWork.com.
