Ms. Carol Friedlander, L- CSW
Licensed Social Worker (New York: 015255)
I believe treatment begins with a compassionate environment in which we can explore presenting problems. The initial goal is to listen, understand and work with you to clarify – if it isn’t clear - what is bringing you in in the first place. Therapy is then tailored to your unique situation. I tend to be interactive and flexible in approach. Frequently, the focus is on helping you get in touch with your feelings and on building self-esteem. The therapeutic relationship becomes a partnership in which we work together to help you with your struggles. I have found that many presenting problems (such as depression, anxiety and low self-esteem) are very treatable.
