Whole Life Counseling, LLC
Licensed Professional Counselor (Michigan: 6401005003)
Limited Licensed Psychologist (Michigan: 6301008661)

Overview
Judy maintains a focus on understanding what clients need or seek in a counseling experience, and empowering them to reach their goals. She sees therapy as a process of exploration intended toward personal growth and increased well-being. It is an opportunity to examine old ways of relating to oneself, and explore new ways of interacting. At times we will explore areas that may be painful to discuss.

“I will treat you with respect and sensitivity and try to help you understand why you feel the way you do. It is my responsibility to share with you my thoughts, impressions, and ideas in a safe and caring relationship, and to help you to become more aware and more free to make healthy choices.”

Therapy consists largely of talking, listening, exploring feelings, thoughts, behaviors, and perceptions and looking at old and new ways of being and/or making choices. Of course, the choices are yours to make.

At times when it is appropriate, we might also choose to use Dream work, Imagery, Relaxation Training, Emotional Freedom Techniques, and Psychodrama-among other alternatives-- to facilitate the therapy process.

Judy believes it is more constructive and longer-lasting to self-actualize and to free up our innate capacities than to focus only on eliminating external problems and symptoms.

Judy is a certified wholistic health counselor, a certified cognitive behavioral therapist, and an endorsed domestic violence counselor.

“Particularly in cases of brief therapy, it will be important to continually evaluate the direction and goals of therapy. I would like you to feel comfortable giving feedback and asking questions about our work throughout the process.”
