Overview
I am a licensed clinical social worker who has been in practice over 40 years. I have a wealth of experience having worked in a variety of settings which include the Illinois State Department of Mental Health, various child welfare agencies, a family service agency, a college counseling service and currently in private practice. I have learned over my years of clinical experience that individual counseling or psychotherapy can be very helpful with issues resulting from acute anxiety and depression. Current research in the field supports this observation, suggesting further that when medication is prescribed for these conditions, having psychotherapy as well offers the optimum outcome.

My practice is a general practice with college students, young adults, adults and older adults. Most of my practice is with individuals but I also see couples. Typical concerns brought to my office include anxiety,depression, relationship issues, marital conflict, panic attacks, infertility, adjustment disorders and recovering substance abuse issues.

I received my training from the University of Chicago with my most recent post-graduate training at the Institute for Psychoanalysis. My orientation is psychodynamic with the focus on using the relationship that we establish together to help us better understand the problems at hand.
