M.S. in psychology from Peabody College

I've been in practice since 1986 and am licensed in the state of Georgia. I offer individual, couples and group psychotherapy. I have a general clinical practice and work with adults and teenagers.

I have taught assertiveness training in Emory University's community education for 16 years.  I run a web page originally developed as an adjunct to this class, but now is visited by people from all over the world: http://www.speakupforyourself.com.  I also do speaking for corporations in Atlanta on topics such as teambuilding, communication, burnout, and assertiveness.

Some of my areas of interest are:

  • Self Esteem Building
  • Depression
  • Interpersonal Communication
  • Parenting Issues
  • Fertility Issues/Struggle of infertility
  • Couple's Communication
  • Women and the Glass Ceiling

I believe that growing in therapy is determined by the depth and strength of the relationship between the client and the therapist.  Generally, I make a good connection with my clients through warmth and empathy, and we work well together, but if the connection doesn't feel right, I am glad to provide a referral to another therapist.
