Frequently asked questions

How do I find a therapist on Psychology.com?

Search 463 licensed therapists by location and specialty from the directory, or browse by state or by area of focus. Each profile shows the therapist's credentials, specialties, session formats, fees, and how to get in touch.

Are the therapists on Psychology.com verified?

Every member profile is matched to the federal NPI Registry (identity and licensed profession) before it goes live, then the license is checked with the therapist's state board where the board offers a public lookup. Both checks are dated on the profile, with links to the registry and the board so you can confirm them yourself. A profile whose license we could not confirm carries the registry match only.

Is Psychology.com free to use?

Searching the directory and contacting therapists is free for people seeking care. Therapists pay a flat membership to be listed ($49 a month or $490 a year, first 30 days free); correcting or removing an older listing is free.

How is Psychology.com different from Psychology Today?

Psychology.com is the internet's original therapist directory, online since 1995. It lists only paying members, each matched to the federal NPI Registry with a dated, publicly checkable badge, and clients can describe what they need and get a short list of fitting therapists instead of scrolling through hundreds of listings.
